Quite a few insiders invested in United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) last year which is positive news for shareholders – NASDAQ

Usually, when one insider buys stock, it might not be a monumental event. But when multiple insiders are buying like they did in the case of United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS), that sends out a positive message to the company’s shareholders.

Although we don’t think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At United Parcel Service

The Independent Director Wayne Hewett made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$100k worth of shares at a price of US$160 each. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of US$202. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn’t tell us much about what they think of current prices.

UPS still looking for holiday help as peak season begins- WDRB

It’s the busiest time of year for UPS as employees work around the clock to get packages delivered in time for the holidays.

Millions of those packages will pass through the hands of workers at Louisville’s Centennial Hub before hitting your doorstep.

Grab it. Scan it, and sometimes re-package it. Then load it. Those are the motions on repeat for more than 300 workers at UPS’ Centennial Ground Hub in Louisville.

“If you get a package delivered here in the Louisville area, it probably came through this facility,” said Jim Mayer, a UPS spokesperson.

Shipping costs are rising—here’s advice on how to save this holiday according to The UPS Store president – CNBC

The holiday season is in full swing, but this year is presenting revelers with several challenges. Amid rising costs and supply-chain constraints, shipping will be more expensive and potentially face extended delays.

Estimates from the State of Holiday Shipping report from LateShipment.com indicate between 16% to 20% of packages shipped with UPS and FedEx will not arrive on time during the 2021 holiday season. And this has many Americans worried, as Loqate’s 2021 Holiday Shopper Insights Report found 80% of consumers are concerned with packages arriving in time for their celebrations.

Shipping prices are going up as well. USPS, FedEx and UPS are all raising prices this holiday season to meet demand, make up for rising operating costs and keep pace with inflation.

Fortunately, with careful planning, there are some ways to save. Ahead, Select spoke with Sarah Casalan Bittle, president of The UPS Store about what consumers can do to ensure a stress-free shipping experience this holiday season, regardless of which delivery service they choose.
