This driver Jeff Hornagold loved working for Ups and someone At Ups loved him back and honored him in a special way. He recently passed away after a battle with lung caner. His casket was driven from the funeral home by his best buddy in a Ups package car.

I think this was a nice gesture on the part of Ups.

Thank you for posting this. I am crying. That was so hard to listen to when his friend was almost crying just talking about driving his casket to the burial.

Wasn't this guy 705??? Red, I know you're in the area the Northwest Herald calls home. My condolences to the family. What a nicely done video! Not so much as a UPS rep to be seen. I knew there were a couple good Ties in North Illinois. -Rocky

A very moving story. In these times of a struggling economy and labor unrest this story really shows what is important in life. God bless the friends and family of Jeff Hornagold.

P.S. Hug the ones you love and never take them for granted, they are not around for ever.

Is it time to go home yet
Very touching video.I have seen garbage trucks and fire trucks used and often wondered if we could use a UPS truck for funerals. Most of us will spend half our lives working here and it's only fitting to be escorted by a vehicle we "lived" in for so long.

Jeff was out of the same building as i am and will be missed. I heard about his passing thursday night but was unable to make the services on friday. He was only 46 years young and way to young to pass. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Ups here is very decent in going above and beyond when it comes to the passing of a ups family member. I have been at several services were the drivers truck is parked at the funeral home, but this is a first and i only hope it continues.

My family sends our deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Red,

I’d take it as a personal favor if you would find the UPS person responsible for allowing the package car to be used. Please look them in the eye and grab their right hand and thank them from me and I’m sure most everyone here.

Thank You!

We had a driver pass years ago too. We talked the division manager into allowing a driver to drive a UPS truck from the church to the cemetary. The family was really touched. It took a lot of guilt tripping but we finally got them to do it.

We too had a driver pass away about 5 years ago. I have his route now and have since he passed away. The guy who used to deliver the next town over from me drove a truck for his funeral. Couldn't think of a better way for UPS to payback an employee and his/her family who had dedicated their lives to Brown.
