Has anyone been approved to take a replacement day off? (see thread march 25.4th of july)

I took Holiday Cash, but what most of the people I work with do not know is the replacement day you bid to take off must be within 90 days of the Holiday. Management has been so gracious as to not inform the work group.

How about the 3rd of July? Aren't you suckers working that day?

Took that week off. We are closed on the 4th but opened on the 3rd. So is ground.

Ground is off Friday. HD is running because they get Saturday off.

Many businesses will be closed anyways. What's the point?

Try to get what they can delivered on Friday so they don't get slammed on Monday?

Heavy Monday or three day weekend... Easy decision!

Why pay drivers to go run 1/3 of a route?

It will probably be a day of residential and retail stores only on July 3rd. Oh well soak up the hours and try to have fun that day

Cut areas and put 1/3 of them on road.

There's a lot more work to adjusting a preload when the building is full of contracted service providers. Not as easy as just cutting some trucks. And it's not worth the time to go in and condense multiple trucks down to 1 or 2. Would be a waste of a couple hours just doing that.

We also don't get paid for attempted closed businesses.

Neither do we---they pull all known closures and cut routes.

    How about this idea?

Since you don't work for Ground, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!

Sure you do. You get paid by the hour. UPS has been paid by the shipper. Ol' STFXG, inc. doesn't get paid unless it's delivered.
