The DC fire department's unofficial estimate was 60-75,000. Might have been a little higher than that even, but nowhere close to a million.

Well lets see how they figured the inaugural numbers:

See those two roads running at an angle to the Capitol? At least one of those was full. The last pic from my original post is looking at the front of all three of those main areas, taken from out front of the Capitol. Keep your head in the sand if you want.

Gibbs on the issue: Nothing to see here!

This all went down about 20 miles from my house. Maybe it seemed bigger than life out there in Vegas, but around here it just wasn't that big of a deal. It's certainly possible that the DC fire dept. lowballed the numbers a little, but nowhere near what you're suggesting. 100k, maybe 150k tops? 1 million is just fantasy land. Psycho fanboys like you are exactly why the park service no longer gives official estimates of crowd size, it's just not worth hearing all the grief from some internet detective 3,000 miles away. I know at least one feeder driver who was planning to attend, I'll ask him on Monday what he thought about it, assuming I see him

20 miles? Las Vegas is barely 20 miles wide and I don't notice the higher crime rate in North Las Vegas versus right where I live. Who exactly is the detective trying to figure things out? I never gave an estimate, only a comparison of the inaugural figuring compared to your investigative numbers.

There are a lot of different reports of the numbers. All I do know is there were a **** load of proud American loving human beings there and all over the country protesting the never ending circle jerk on every side of DC politics.

Again, keep you head in the sand, if it makes YOU feel proud.

Here is some time lapse footage of the 9/12 march crowd. It looks like 1 million+ in attendance is very possible.

Even your beloved FOX news is talking about "tens of thousands" which seems accurate. I pointed out that Baba's estimate of 1.2-2M was pretty far off the mark, and it is. Your reply seemed somewhat incoherent, but I was able to decipher that you seemed to be taking issue with what I said (seeing as how you quoted my post and all) If you're not talking about the attendance numbers, what exactly are you talking about?

There's no way you can get a good estimate by looking at something like that. I've run the Marine Corps marathon twice on those same streets and have also been down there as a spectator when friends have run it. It looks absolutely packed. Runners shoulder to shoulder as far as the eye can see in both directions. But actual attendance has never topped 25k.

Pretty impressive, and that's not even half the field. Still only 30k total. If you really want to believe that a million people showed up in DC yesterday, go right ahead, but it didn't happen.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - American anger at how much has been spent propping up the US economy will not persuade President Barack Obama to row back on his ambitious health care reform plans, the White House said Sunday.

Tens of thousands took to the streets of Washington on Saturday to attack Obama for his big spending and big government, accusing his administration of leading the United States down the road to socialism.

The numbers are all over the place, nevertheless quite a showing!

I see a lot of space between those people. The footage I posted was much denser. 1 million+ in attendance easy...
