A lot of unhappy campers in teamcare's first few days....

Oh, I'm sure it is, but I think many are making accusations before they have even experienced it yet, and just exaggerating things based on poor reading comprehension. I consider myself lucky, especially with all the health things my daughter is going through right now, and just told my husband today that I couldn't imagine going through it without our current healthcare. Could it be better? Sure, if they wanted to pay every single thing at 100%, but I don't honestly expect that. I sleep well knowing that no matter what we go through over these next few weeks of trips to 2 different specialists, CT scans, ultrasounds, etc, that we aren't going to lose our home over it, as many have in this country. *shrugs* Maybe that's just me. So yeah, of course things can always be better, but they can also be sooo much worse.
I agree with you post 100%. My wife was very sick for months, and almost died. The medical bills I saw were staggering, I was only responsible for a very small percentage of those bills, nothing we could not handle. Team Care is good insurance that most working people will never see.

To add some substance for comparison between what UPS Pters paid before and could be paying now for an office visit to a specialist.

Last year I had to have my right shoulder looked at (and operated on). The initial office visit co pay was $10. Same as it would be now under TeamCare. However, during this office visit they also did an x-ray and an injection shot. I did not have any additional costs beyond the $10. UPS Aetna plan paid it all.

To be fair I don't have the full Plan Document for U3 on TeamCare, only the Summary. However, according to the summary under office visits it clearly states that any "additional costs may be owed for medical services beyond the office visit (eg x-rays, injections, lab tests, ect)". I will be reaching out to TeamCare for clarification on this later.

Looking at the "If you have a test" line below office visit, it appears the x ray would cost 20%. Assuming that the injection would be subject to that same 20%, my office visit last year that cost me $10 would now cost me a total of $55. This is based on the negotiated rate that Aetna paid on the charges from the medical provider, with me paying 20% out of pocket.

So yes us PTers have a legitimate complaint. I voted no on this contract. However if PTers don't step up across the board this is the crap that is dealt.

Most of us make half the pay rate and get less than half the time of the full timers. Our health benefits helped make up the difference. Now it appears that it won't be the case anymore.

I will update my findings once I find out for sure on this scenario.
Do you have a second job? I'm not trying to be disrespectful I'm just trying to figure out what your situation is.

Any of us who were part time before going full time had that insurance. It was very nice I agree bit when I had the chance to go full time and go into central states I didn't bat an eye. Was it as good no but since I got that job I've built houses had more kids and lived the American DREAM with those benefits. I live like a king on those benefits. I get new cars my kids are in all kinds of activities and my wife stays home with the kids. All this life with central states/teamcare. How am I doing it?
Oh yea I've had many surgeries and emergencies in the fam and I'm still eating steak on Sunday. When I was a drinker I drank the best beer and I was known to drop 9 grand on Disney world vacation. Give it some time before you call for the apocalypse.

So it's my fault? I didn't fight hard enough? That's why you had better health insurance?

Now, we're in the same TeamCare boat. What's that say about how hard you fought?

I guess folks up north must have it better all around, over the Southern people. I have friends in government, and in professional fields, and none of them have insurance as good as mine. So, I disagree, Central States is great insurance. The days of paying zero are over in this country, just like $1.99 a gallon gasoline.

i agree with you. I can't speak for the drivers who had BCBS prior to Teamcare. But Teamcrap pales in comparision to what PTers had under Aetna. ER visits with Xrays..Zero out of pocket costs. Urgent care visits with lab work and xrays? $10 copay...no additional costs. MRI? cost me $18. I just got a $380 pair of glasses last month...didn't cost me a dime.
