    Pizza places as access points?
Customer comes home from work, notice states package left at XYZ Pizza.
Customer can pick up Pizza at the same time they pick up their shipment.
OR, they place an order for the Pizza to be delivered, and say for an extra buck or 2, they will bring the item to the customer as well as the Pizza.
Pizza places are open late as it is for those who get off work late.
    Might this work?

Wouldn't the drivers need a DOT card though since they are performing interstate commerce?

I think access points would work well if they signed up retirees in the neighborhoods. More like an indirect but farther away.

People would have a better feeling picking up their stuff from a "neighbor" and it would give a retiree a little income.

The UPS Store does it now.

I am not familiar with the Access Point except in Europe.
How much different is this from a send again?

The ups store drives the package to its final destination?

We only let USPS do that for us.

  10. One delivery attempt, then it gets sent to an access point. Only for residential deliveries.

Geeks in offices that have no grasp of the real world dream up those things. And their only contact is with similar people so they just convince each other it is a great idea.
