Adding a bid route...

How many times in a week/ month does a run need to be in; for it to be posted as a bid route? We have a few runs that are in almost everyday but have never been posted as a bid. It's being covered by cover drivers or seasonal drivers.
Thanks!

In the southern supplement "all routes must be bid". Our center even bid routes that are only in one or two days per week.

Ours is 3 days a week for 4 weeks then it needs to be bid. The problem we have is they keep changing the loop or route name. One day its 16E the next its 15x etc. Same stuff different name. We've gotten some new routes this year with more to come they say.

All you have to do is keep up with the work. Even if it has a new name. If you can justify that it is the same route then you could get it to be a bid route.

Same thing in this area...this started happening recently. However, it is already almost October and all of the contract language seems to go out the window in this part of NE, around this time...

I talked with our steward who said the same thing. So I talked with some of the other cover drivers and we coordinated to let him know what areas were in junk routes. It got one route bid this week. They are talking about some bigger changes (moving business stops to different routes, relooping a bit etc) so we'll see what we can get done before "they are too busy with peak"
