Affordable Care Act designed to move people off of employer plans. Surprise!

In case you missed it on the other threads, this video is worth watching. UPS's attack on our health plans is no coincidence. It's been in the works for years. The Affordable Care Act AKA Obamacare seeks to funnel as many people as possible onto the exchanges & ultimately lead to single payer. One tax, one fine, one contract, one employer at a time. The downgrade of our insurance by UPS because of legislation supported by unions is part of that "transition".

Most people are too blind to see this. UPS is the enemy even though Obama and the Dems are destroying the employer provided or private health care system by government mandates that are driving costs the most companies and private citizens cannot afford.

The rubber is meeting the road when the Company is reviewing and educating the Teamsters --including hall of what they supported in Obamacare.

You cannot have it both ways ---the interests of your Union employees or the interests of people who do not work and expect all of us to pay their fair share.

The video is clearly a montage of clips from various years sewn together to express propaganda. If they weren't taken out of context, then they're be no need to edit a flashy two-minute montage consisting of clips from about 4 or 5 different years.

As I mentioned elsewhere, you could give a speech on our light sentencing for people who drink, drive, kill somebody -- saying like 'we rightfully assess 10+ year jail sentences for those who view child porn, but give probation to those who kill somebody' and I could edit it to make you look like a whacko pedophile.

Regardless of this video, it has been part of the Democratic Party idiom for decades that the US have a single payer system with the National Government being that payer.
This was around before Hillary and Bubba tried to pass it back in the early 90s.

Is there a real problem with that?

Seems to me that the simpler, the better. Why should ER be the only health care provided?

Medicare is actually pretty darn good, and if it was universal, and fraud prosecuted, I don't see a problem.

Private enterprise has proved to be a rip off in health care, from the consumer end.

Very true. Every day Obama sounds more and more republican to me.

If passing the healthcare act makes Obama a Marxist and the plan mirrors Richard Nixon's, does this make Nixon a Marxist too?

So then both political parties are the party of Karl Marx? That means whoever voted for either party is also a communist?

OK, I'm starting to understand how this stuff works. I'm good!

That's right and the government will decide who gets treatment and what kind of treatment.
There will be a panel of government experts that make these decisions.
The elderly and unworthy will be sent home to die because it's cheaper.

I did not say it was or was not.

Medicare is pretty good but Medicaid sucks.
Things seem to be headed towards a Medicaid type service level.

People stay informed. Obama has reduced funding for Medicare to help fund Obamacare Medicaid. Lowering Medicare payments to Doctors will not improve care nor availability to Seniors

Yes. And when companies find the loopholes to jetison their employer paid insurance, comapanies and their balance sheets will be ecstatic.

Those aren't loopholes. They are an obvious part of the plan. A 4% tax to opt out of providing you're employees insurance isn't a loophole, it's a strategy.

Montage aside, I didn't have to watch it to know the statement Smurf posted above the video is true. It doesn't take a Masters degree in anything to see that as the goal of 0bamacare. From the first leaks of the bill anyone that didn't see this coming simply was not paying attention. Sorry to say the attention span in America has gotten to these levels.

Can anyone here truthfully and coherently tell me why we would not want cradle to grave health care for every citizen?

In the long run (thinking of my grandkids), wouldn't that be better for everyone?

I think it comes down to individual freedoms & each persons right to life liberty & the persuit of happiness. Those rights are severed to a degree when the government becomes the rationing body overseeing your life & how you choose to live. Assuming by your question you are for nationalized healthcare, you should have no problem surrendering your private healthcare to reach that goal. Now doesnt it make sense that Obama's plan does that for you?
