Interesting read is this thread. Enjoyed many of the comments. With 34 years myself and to the OP's original question, oh yes, when I hit 30 it got easier and each year passes it only gets even more so. I joke that I'm one bad day away and it feels good to have that position so to speak but the plan has been when I hit 62 which is 3 years away, I'm gone. I said "has been" because the law firm my wife works for just merged with a very large firm and the bennies for my wife to go at least 5 more years is pretty big as it appears for the moment. If she continues so will I but come 65 I'm gone no matter what. We've now got to sit back down and run the numbers with the new scenarios and see what comes out in the wash to see if the plans stay as they are or if we adjust. At the moment I'm mentally OK either way which is a good feeling to have. Hardest part of my job are days like today when the temps hit mid to upper 90's and the heat index rubs up against triple digits. I'm not a warm weather person at all but from late Sept. over to early May, it's good. When it starts into the 90's day after day, I start quitting day after day! ;)
