And the hits just keep coming

Not too difficult to figure that the online pharmacies were skirting the law. As long as they pay their bills, FedEx could care less.

But is FedEx responsible to "investigate" and expend cost to determine a companies legality. Should FedEx also investigate all Tax companies who we pup and del tax returns with potentially illegal tax evasions? Where does it stop?

Last time I checked no one has overdosed on taxes or been under the influence of taxes and killed someone on the road. Comparing apples to oranges.

Look, everyone at my station knew the 6-7 or so "pharmacies" that we picked up at, that shipped primarily COD packages of pills to locations far across the country and had a return address 1000 miles away from where we were picking it up were bad news and fishy.
Give me a break, fedex knew this was bs and turned a blind eye.
Our management and sales staff did and we all knew it, multiply that by several hundred stations across the country and that's where we are at...

Soon as we can train drug sniffin' dogs to sniff out fraudulent tax returns.

Walmart, Apple and even Sex Toy companies do the same thing. Having a return address that differs from the pickup location is not incriminating.

Are those companies pharmaceuticals shipping drugs? Again apple's to oranges.

Since everyone knew it, did anyone contact the DEA?

In cases like this there usually is some inside information.

No we are comparing Apples to Apples, outside of Dangerous Goods as regulated by the FAA/IATA and highvalue items as declared by shipper,
we make no assumptions of a packages contents, our business is to Pickup and Deliver packages, not to second guess every single package contents,
we cannot be asked to assume the roll of "investigator" Now if the DEA wants to subpena records for an individual company(as they have in the past)
FedEx would comply.

Believe me FedEx does plenty wrong in the eyes of the employees, and some not so honest dealings with Govt RLA, Ground contractor issues, etc... But when
it comes to this, the govt is barking up the wrong tree, they are looking for an easy way to curtail this "pharma" industry.

And Stops per hour, the govt isn't looking to stop overdosing, they are looking for a way to protect the pharmaceutical industry which is heavily lobbied in Washington.
Face it the pharmaceutical companies are pissed, someone is selling their $5(cost) pill for $10, when they usually charge $25

If it is aquired illegally the cost will usually be higher. If it is cheaper then it's probably counterfeit.

Exactly. FedEx knew full well that getting Oxycontin or one of it's equivalents without a real prescription was pure dynamite. They accepted the profit knowing full well what these online pharmacies were doing. As usual, as long as it generates revenues, "no questions asked". If there was a site called "PedophilesAreUs" and they distributed kiddie porn via FedEx, Fred would be down with it in a heartbeat...as long as he made money off the deal.
