I am a young unloader with a "lumbar strain" injury,It has been around 5 weeks going on six and the pain hasn't subsided. The week before said injury I had felt extreme tightness and a sharp pain, but,I did what a spring chicken would do and continued on.
Well to make it short,Concentra (comp. Doctor) hasnt done much for the pain and I dont know what to do.
They claim it was repetitave usage of my legs and some other :censored2:.
Any help would be appreciated :(

I hope you mean that you have a lawyer, that you chose to represent you. Instead of waiting for the insurance to get off it's ass, use your own personal insurance and see your doctor. Also, get on your lawyer and ask questions!

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Bad advice. By doing this in some places you give up your right to have comp cover the injury.
Seriously. I thought you were always able to go see your own doctor?

Hell the company always has their own comp doctors. I don't see how that's really right.

The comp dr around here lost his liscense he was so crooked.

Most of them are. It takes an act of Congress to have a comp doctor sign off on you. They want you coming back time after time so they get their share of that "easy money". They will send you to all their buddies so they can get a piece of the pie too. Work comp is the most crooked system going and for the most part its the doctors who make it that way. The one time I was on it for 3 months for a back problem the doctor kept me coming back to see him for 3 years. Here's how the conversation always went:

Him: How you feeling?

Me: Fine-- no problems.

Him: Have you been doing any fishing?

Me: Yes (proceed to tell a fishing story).

Him: See me again in 3 months.

10 minutes later I'm out the door and he has billed work comp for $125.00.+ and he did this all day long. Its a racket.

It does vary from place to place, here seeing your own Doctor or any other Dr. w/o approval will get your case denied.

Guess it depends on your state laws. In Wisconsin you go to the doctor of your own choice. Liberty Mutual then can have you see one of their own. A third one is seen if they disagree.

Been there, horrible experience. Every step of the process takes a month to month and a half. I was out of work for 14 months. Didn't get my WC approved until 9 months in. Once you lawyered up, UPS felt an obligation to make your life a living hell.

A crazy guy on my sort plan is all the grievance money he gets. He puts on side for his attorney fees cause he feels once he gets hurt he needs 10 hrs of fees available to use before he dips into personal bank account.

You need to see your doctor, tomorrow. Get it done and stop waiting for their insurance to come around. It can take weeks, even months before you get a straight answer about an appointment with their doctor. In the meantime, stop being a fool and take care of YOU!

Repetitive usage? That's a load of crap. Do not listen to them! As soon as you can, see your own doctor immediately, UPS doctors are all bunch of :censored2: quacks. They will not treat you properly, thats what UPS pays them for: to get you back to work asap to avoid costing them money. Pain killers do not work, all they do is mask the pain, hence thats why their called pain killers, not pain treaters.

Keep us posted.

Also go to the doctor by yourself management always wants to go with. You have the right to see your own doctor by yourself.

Management has the right to go with you when you seek medical care but are not allowed to go in to the exam room with you. They will try to send you to the company doctor first but you also have the right to see your own doctor.
