Yeah I don't care which one I just want to be on the beach haha

  5. This is why they don't allow transfers. You'd have 5000 guys transferring to West Palm Beach from the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Maine etc

Brownslave688 You want a toe? I can get you a toe.

Maybe you should become a surf instructor.

Then they would all want to come back north during the summer when its 100 degrees with 100% humidity down there.

I don't know man. That doesn't seem to be the case over at FedEx Express. But maybe things would be different on our end.

It's NOT the case at FedEx Express. One can only transfer if there is an open position. There is a list of open positions around the country, that comes out weekly.

Since the jobs are just as bad everywhere it really doesn't matter if you transfer?

Not necessarily. In some areas, it's like working for a different company.

There seems to be plenty of transfer opportunities though. I've seen more than a few of them in my area. One transferred in and went full-time then transferred back to where she came from. She was only here like three years.

One can be held in a location from 18-24 months. It all depends on the contract that is signed. And sometimes they can be let out of their contract earlier for hardship or with a waiver.

    Contract?

Yes. When one transfers into a location they have to sign an offer letter (contract) agreeing to the terms of the position.

And yes, there are always open positions. Whether one gets a position or not is based on seniority. There are others bidding as well from around the country.

About 7 years to make f/t driver then 20 years to get the beach runs.

And then you only get the beaches on the North Shore.
