Brownbailout is Working

Does anyone actually know the name of this bill so I can read what's there for myself and keep track of its progress?

I'm sick of reading nothing but UPS and FedEx views on the matter as both are going to be biased.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. This is America, and Americans want good service.DHL was by far the cheapest but thier service SUCKED and looked what happened to them.

If it was only about price then the USPS would be kicking out ass right?Do some research next time, its not just about price.
I had several customers that went with DHL because of PRICE! Guess what? Six months later those same DHL customers came back to Fed Ex or UPS because DHL service was HORRIBLE!!!!

When was the last time you saw a mail truck making pickups? That's why they are not kicking our ass! If you need gas in your car don't you pick the gas station with the cheapest price? If a pkg was not scheduled to be delivered in 1-2 days do you think John Q Public gives a rat's behind who delivered the pkg they find when they get home. They only care about price and that it arrived in one piece. Finally, if price did not determine where you shop (just like our customers and shippers), then why does Wal Mart employ over 1.2 million people in the U.S. and that figure is 5yrs old!
What happened to DHL then? They had the cheapest prices, way way cheaper than UPS.

Had a customer today ask about opening a UPS account. They have had a fedex daily pickup for at least 6 years (as long as I have been on the route). I said I wil have a sales rep contact them.

This customer then stated " I heard that UPS was getting a bailout. I don't want to see you guys go out of business, so I am going to try to start shipping with UPS."

Maybe UPS will gain business from this, who knows?

"second fiddle" and my empty trucks simply mean there continues to be a huge market for fedex, namely current ups shippers. and you don't have to ask me about big accounts, just ask your local sales reps, or upssalesguy. he posts here quite a bit. yes, those trucks you thought were half empty, are really half full. and by the time you see them, we've probably been on the road a couple hours longer than ups. how 'bout that, gomer.:happy2:

Sorry it took me so long to respond to your fantasy land based post. I was out late yesterday and tonight delivering all of those packages that we supposedly have lost to FedEx. Oh by the way.....the FedEx driver on my route was done before 4:30 pm. Yeah....must have been the half empty ("half full") truck that got her in so early huh? :happy-very:

don't worry, my fantasy land is quite full and your absence was barely noticed. good to here you had so much volume. or was that because your terminal has cut routes? and don't worry about that fedex driver being done at 4:30. she probably left the terminal at 7:00am. and anyway, with wages so low, overhead is low so we don't need her out there late to make it profitable. make sure you don't stay out too late everyday, though. you could turn into a real crotchety old man. no job is worth that.:wink2:

I'm not even specifically talking about UPS / Fedex Drama created out of nothing here - US consumers - to their own detriment, choose service & hard goods on price the majority of the time. If they didn't, China would not be doing so well (just a small example)

US consumers talk the talk (Buy American, Quality is King, Buy Union, no Sweatshops) but when the wallet comes out, they drive their Kia to Walmart to buy Nikes made by 9 year-olds in Indonesia.

There is a business saying that goes "Price - Quality - Service / you can have any two of the three" An overnight package either gets there on time or it doesn't. The US consumer just doesn't care. The company name could be "Hitler's Overnight Delivery & lawnmower repair" and, as long as the price is right, that is the service they will use.

Talking the talk is easy. Everybody can an does do so. Nobody practices what they preach.

What really pisses me off, is that the tax payers will be flippin the bill for all these FedexGround and HD drivers when they get to old or unhealthy to do the job. Guys like this bbsam don't pay living wages to their drivers and no retirement, benefits, etc., because they get scraps from Fedex Corp. Think about it he has 6 people doing the same job we do making minimum wage, if you calculate it hourly, and probably makes less in total compensation after expenses than any of us at top rate. It's called a pyramid scheme, ladies and gents! Fred S has created a workforce destine to live off the tax payer aka the government after they are worked dry. Now who is getting the bailout? American tax payers will be bailingout Fedex as long as Fred keeps the fake contractor thing going. Fred S is not a genius just an greedy old a-hole.

I am trying to be as restrained as possible in my response to this. I am not trying to be abusive or start a fight, truly I am not. My question is, does anyone else believe this total crap? Or is this poster the only one with so little intelligence or common sense?

Listen to what you are saying. Really think about it for a second. Taken to its' logical conclusion, you are stating that every employee in the USA that makes less than what UPS employees do is cheating, unfair, sucking off the teet of UPS employees. That includes employees at FedEx, McDonalds, WalMart, the unemployed, probably over 1/2 the US population if not more.

Nobody enjoys a good back & forth argument more than I do. However, your statement is not an argument - it is a testament to your common sense, and it shows you have none.

I though of you today as I was delivering. I kept running into the same FedEx driver all during the route. He seemed to have plenty of time to chat with customers. I quite enjoyed walking in and having all of the women, and sometimes men, that he thought he was buttering up stop in the middle of their conversations with him to sign for my packages and then hand me piles of packages in return. He left with nothing each time. And do I need to mention that in each neighborhood and apartment complex there was like a 10/1 package ratio? Yeah....it sounds like you've got UPS right where you want them. Riiiiiiiiight. But hey....keep living the dream but remember you gotta wake up sometime.

oh, no, i'm quite sure you "big dogs" will sufficiently demolish us. you guys are all that and so much more! the only problem is you haven't done it yet, not that you haven't tried. and there is that little thing that if ups was everything they claim, rps never would have lasted a year. so in that respect, i would say that i am comfortable in the belief that fedex will survive and that your customers remain fair game. remember that because of fedex's cheaper cost structure, every package we take from ups disproportionately helps us and hurts you compared to the converse. so by all means remain as confident in your self-assuredness as i am in mine. continue to view fedex as you once viewed dhl. we are nothing, you are everything. don't even bother with sales leads, because, gosh, where else would the customer go. although in the morning when you wake up, ask yourself why that fedex driver was even there in the first place.

Ok, no not all jobs making less than UPS, but hey people complain about socialism and government taking care of those who can not take care of themselves. And yet we have many welfare-type programs for those who either didn't make enough money to save for the future, or weren't willing to work. So, about 1/2 America maybe not right, but some are getting the short-end, while the others picks up the tab. I blame only the system that allows this to happen. But I do blame Fred S for his part in dishin the S to his own employees.

Brownbailout come is part of an aggressive public education campaign effort led by FedEX Express to bring this debate to the public. Why? Because simply put, it is the public who will ultimatley have to pay the price of such legilslation through increased shipping costs and less reliability.

I'm wondering why we allow these idiots to post at Brown Cafe when we're not allowed to post at their foolish site?

Seriously, I think we should moderate them the same way their mods moderate anyone who doesn't agree with their propaganda.
