Anybody have any customers who grow dope?

I know of at least 4 of them on my route. Here in Oregon it is legal to grow a small amount for medical use if you have a medical marijuana card from your doctor, or you can join a co-op and hire somebody to grow it in larger quantites.

The odor is a dead giveaway. I have one guy whose weed is so pungent that I can smell it from inside the truck 100 yards down the driveway from his house. His garage windows are covered up with cardboard and there are ventilator fans blowing thru vents in the roof. Another customer has a newly built shed next to his house with an extension cord and a garden hose running out to it. Its pretty easy to spot a home growing operation once you catch a whiff and know what to look for.

I actually told one customer that I could smell his weed and that he might want to make some changes to his ventilation system. Normally I would mind my own business but this guy had a really sweet pit bull dog that I had grown to like and the thought of the police shooting it during a raid was more than I could stand. The guy told me that he had a card and was legal to grow, but he was still concerned about criminals trying to rip him off. He was so accustomed to the odor that he could barely smell it any more, so he was grateful that I let him know.

Really, I rather have a neighbor that grew dope then manufactured meth. Just because of resale value on my house. Don't most residents in Newberg also have farm animals wandering through their houses' freely?

one of the counties we deliver in is made up up 90%national forest.most the residents grow there because they cant loose their property and the area is very isolated.used to rank in the top growers in the nation, we see helicopters and raid squads during the harvest seasons.a few years ago i saw them burning what was reported as the largest bust in states history, that pile was as big as a large two story home and you could smell it for a mile.

I once had a 3 car Police escort from an MBE to the hub because someone shipped 10 or so 50lb Next Day Air boxes that were full of pot. They had me run all the lights and rolled with me all the way to the air dock.

Of course, Management expected me to maintain my return to building drive time.

St. Lawrence County shipped over 40 lbs of pot to the crime lab in Albany for testing. It made the trip down.

On the return trip, it was tracked all the way to the Potsdam center. Somewhere between the unload and load, it disappeared.

They never did find out who did it. Not my center, BTW.
