Check out Hoaxter's thread regarding CVS Caremark in the Partners thread. Your prescriptions may only cost $4, but I believe his examples are more typical. Also, if Caremark is like Medco, you need to get a 90 day prescription--My wife uses fentanyl patches, and the doctor can only give her a 30 day prescription at a time.

For controlled Rx like this, you fill locally with no problems on my part (so far).

I'd call the number and have them send you the complete benefit package and compare it to your current. Just an FYI, I have union run bennies, every few months I get literature on how my bennies get better. We have the best benefits in RI in any private sector. Just approach with an open mind.

My union health care with Central states sucks... We do not get mailings stating bennies are getting better.. We get the bills in the mail from CS because they do their best to NOT pay claims... Another issue, we poor suckers who are already in CS, WILL NOT GET the enhanced bennies that all the UPSers who will be coming into CS.. That is cow crap !!!! We have been screwed for so long with CS and now other UPSers will get better bennies than us ???

You just continue to pull things out of your ass don't you. So your premise is we will all be in the same plan with UPS paying the premiums and were going to get different coverage? You have not made one positive post ever. Worst of all you always seem to be wrong.

you have to go to CVS to fill or you will pay I think 40%, at cvs it is 20% at least for us in the CS plan now

Again not true. You can fill non maintenance meds at any pharmacy you want, except for Wal-Mart. For maintenance meds you must use CVS Caremark and receive through the mail with a 20% co-pay with a maximum out of pocket expense of $200. You can also get it filled at CVS through auto refill service for same 20% co-pay. You must also get a 90 supply. If you don't then your 1st 2 fills will be at 20% but after that it goes up to a higher co-pay(30% I believe). I can get a 90 supply through caremark for the same price as a 30 day supply if you can follow instructions.

Agreed.
I have been using Publix since Jan 1 with CVS Caremark as the approver.
No problems with co-pays being different from MEDCO.

Only changes I have noticed is that UPS changed the approved list and added a new level of Non-Preferred Brand with a higher co-pay. This is all UPS and not Caremark.
I had to change 3 prescriptions that were no longer on the approved list.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS compared to OUR current plan that charges us $5.00 or NOTHING for prescriptions. YOU may feel lucky enough to pay 20% or even 30%, but "WE" feel differently. WE DEMAND TO CONTINUE PAYING what we are currently paying.

WE are voting NO!

Peace

x-ray and labs will cost us a fortune as they are paid at 80%,

I can't speak to all of it since I don't know what the benefits are through the company plan, but this is incorrect. X-rays, MRI, CT Scans and labs are all paid at 100%, as long as you use US Imaging for radiology and Quest Diagnostic for labs. Not sure about Quest, but I know with the radiology part, you just call the number on your insurance card and they set up everything for you.

With dental now there is no maximum. With the proposed dental plan there is a limit of $1500 a year in maximum dental benefits.

Not anymore. Central States now has no maximum. They just paid every last bit of my son's root canal and subsequent crown, which was more than $1500.

Caremark does require a 90 day for recurring scripts, UNLESS it is for a controlled substance that can only be filled 1 month at a time.

Correct or a one-time Rx for a non-recurrent medical condition (ie. - you get sick).
My wife got the flu and Caremark paid for Rx at Publix at normal co-pay rates.
