I was a part time local sort employee for 7 years in the Mid Atlantic District, I've seen/put up with far more BS than I care to recall or bore you guys and gals with. In the middle of February I was instructed to handle international packages a certain way to be held for the next day and corrected. 2 WEEKS LATER I was reprimanded on a conference call by a building sup who works out of a building 45 miles away, and had been on our shift ZERO times, a District Manager who used to be our center manager and HATED our union steward, and a supervisor, who, no joke...walks around with his butt exposed cause he refuses to wear a belt. When I questioned my international shipping sup, she told me that I did what I was told to do, but I had to listen to the bs being directed at me. That was Monday, and as of Friday of that week I was done with UPS, getting back a stress free life, and the ability to enjoy my family. I would encourage any part timers who are stressed to the point it affects them that, UPS is not worth it, in comparison with your relationships and stress. Get out before it gets worse. When I started there in 2005, it was a great company, I worked my ass off, even when I was sick, and other issues were in play. I knew how to do every facet of the local sort, and do it well. Good luck to all of you in your fights and careers. I'm so blessed to have my family back, and be a coach, and a Dad.
