Can UPS charge customers by floor?

Can anybody confirm this? I've never heard this one before and feel cheated if it is true.

This isn't true. You should put in the correct suite number or floor number so that we have a more accurate record of where the pkg was delivered. However, there is no additive for floors or suites. When the timestudy did take place the defined area you are in would have included the time to walk up a flight of stairs and that would have been in the delivery stop allowance for each stop in that area. If the study for the one defined area had 100 stops and one of those had the time for 1 flight of stairs, then the extra time per stop would be very very small.

Perhaps you could give her some pointers on how to avoid hitting someone in the rear and hurting them instead of pointers on how to act like a disgruntled employee?

Doing the job the way we are trained is acting like a disgruntled employee? What a shocker that a center manager has this mindset...not.

You have a problem with training her on how to avoid hitting someone in the rear? Thats the problem with you "sky is falling, woe is me" crybabies. You hit someone in the rear because you don't make sure you have the proper following distance. You then want to have a circle jerk and crying session because that mean old center manager wants to take your job. There is no accident more avoidable then hitting someone in the rear. Instead of kissing her ass you should be kicking it for making such a stupid mistake. It would probably help her a lot more then telling her to become anti social like trick did.

This is killing me because other drivers like to cut off to your lane. Your following distance welcomes them because It is longer than two-car length.

The most avoidable accident at UPS is backing. Also, it is the most common.

"anti social" don't pay the bills.......keeping my job does.

........and since when did our job become, involve or entail being a member of a social club?

Your turn.........

My point exactly . Why not tell her how to prevent hitting someone in the rear instead of teaching her how to be anti-social.

Your turn

It does seem to me that backing accidents seem to be as prevalent as ever, and I dont get why. Anyone can have an accident, we are still human, but that camera has become my best friend. Backing was always the scariest for me and I still avoid it but sometimes not possible. I do it slowly and safely, when in doubt get out. It may take a bit longer, but it saves your a**. The following distance does leave too much room for people to cut, and dropping back takes more time, but just do it. Its not as easy to stop your truck as it is an escort or a grand prix. And I sometimes think that people do it on purpose. Get hit by the brown truck and you win the lotto.
