Can you schedule to use sick days in advance if you have to look after an ill friend/family member?

Or can you only use personal holidays in advance? I have perfect attendance with the company and I think I've only ever used one sick day in my 5 years here. Ive heard from one driver I can schedule out some sick days if I need to take care of someone, but my sup said no.

It sort of depends on how many days you need, is it a one time kind of thing, or is it going to be ongoing...etc.

Research FMLA.

And ask your Steward, not your SUP.

Its a one time thing. I was planning on using four days in a week.

You may have to sell the days back rather than schedule them for future use. You would then take the 4 days off unpaid.

Technically yes. Option days can be used whether you scale schedule of our not. And FMLA is an option too.
