well, the customer did indirectly signed the doortag from the day before, so this is what i have to work with... so at least i'm "covered" from any disputes

That's a pretty crappy hiding job. If they signed a release, I wouldn't bother with the door mat. What if the cust. is home, walks out the door, trips over pkg. right in the way, sues your boss?

UPS would file a grievance that a house on fire isn't part of their contract and then take a month off because of smoke inhalation.
