Helpers and seasonals don't get paid. They should have told you that in orientation.

Anyone know why I'm paying union dues when I'm just a seasonal full-time driver?

You are paying to gain knowledge and experience. Think of it as tuition to the school of hard knocks.

And yet, RTW freeloaders are paying nothing.

So who should I talk to about why I'm paying union dues when I'm a casual?

    I'm confused----are you a casual or a seasonal employee?

Aren't they the same thing? I'm a driver until January when I get laid off.

A casual is a driver who works when needed year round.

A seasonal employee is one who works during Peak and knows that they will be laid off in January.

So should union dues be coming out of my check as a seasonal then?
