And now I know absolutely that you have no idea what you are talking about (insofar as far as the working conditions of drivers). Believe me guy, nobody's truck is going out 1/4 full. I believe you when you say that you take care of your customers...here's where UPS doesn't let us take care of your customers: "Hey, it's actually going to be the hottest day of the year (maybe a record hot day!), so be sure you stay hydrated, and you know, take a break if you feel yourself getting overheated." "Oh, by the way, we cut the XX-X route, 'cause, you know, it's Friday, so you have an extra 30 commercial stops in an area which is real close to your route, plus a bunch of extra residential stops." "What's that? Oh, it's sort of close to your route, but it's a logistical nightmare? No problem, here's the part where we just need you to WORK HARDER". Meaning: businesses get delivered after they get picked up, we criss-cross back and forth all over town just to get all the businesses delivered, schools get missed, we have no time to deliver most of the residential packages (which I guess we don't make any money on) until the end, after the regular pickups (and the extra pickups from the cut-route) are completed, etc. And you're the guy who wants us to get sales leads, because, we're the face of the company? Common conversation: "So you guys can be here the same time every day for the pickup, right?" "Yes. Absolutely. Unless it's Monday or Friday, in which case it might be the other guy, but he's coming from the other side of town, and sometimes the only time he can get you guys is, you know, an hour before you really want, but it's okay, because on those days, you're probably not going to get your regular delivery until after that, so you probably won't have anything to ship out anyway..." Lead sold.
