Comparing Shipping Giants: FedEx vs. UPS - Seeking Alpha

We’ve previously looked at stocks and ETFs that benefit during economic recoveries. FedEx and UPS are two names that are intimately tied to the overall health of the U.S. and global economies. Since these two companies face little in the way of additional domestic competition and do essentially the same thing, investors should only own one of these names. So it’s decision time. Which package shipper belongs in your portfolio? In spite of the cheery news delivered by FedEx, UPS is probably the better bet for longer-term investors.

Other than the dividend, what does UPS have to offer besides lackluster returns on your investment? FEDX is aggressively gaining ground revenues while UPS sits on its hands and does not pursue the lucrative next day air especially in Asia.
So, you have to ask yourself, am I looking for growth or am looking for a stable investment? FEDX is both, and UPS is only a good place to hide your money................

Buy both of these stocks. Its a win win if you do. There is no other competition for UPS and FDX so why not? They both need each other to keep the pricing of shipping rates where it needs to be to make money. I own both stocks just like I own Coke and Pepsico.
