The thing nobody seems to talk much about is how health care costs are simply running away from everyone. Time magazine --http://healthland.time.com/why-medical-bills-are-killing-us/--just did an excellent piece on why our costs are literally killing us. Why? Because the health care industry can, that's why. When you go to a hospital and they give you an ibuprofen and charge you $1.40 for it when you can go outside the hospital and get it for a couple of cents, the system has gone a muck. Is Obamacare the answer? Maybe not. Hell, probably not. But the GOP answer of saying that the system is just fine, is not only wrong, it's fraudulent. anyone look at the health care stats of modern countries lately? If you have, you can't stupidly say we have the greatest health care system in the world. The facts don't lie. Our health care system is failing us. And the health care industry is becoming fabulously rich by doing it. Does anyone us else see a problem with this? The fact is, ALL politicians are guilty of accepting bribes from the medical industry. Democrat, Republican...they are all whores of the dollar bill. This debate is a microcosm of our political system. Nothing will ever get done when it is so easy to legally bribe the people we elect. And as voters, well, we're just plain old morons. We fall for stupid campaign slogans. At one time, maybe, we may have been the greatest country of all. But those days are gone. Common sense doesn't pay for elections, and the horse we've bet on is long out of the gates. And I'm not referring to one President either. It's way beyond that now. The health care industry is no different from any other industry in this country. They pay off politicians to keep things the way they want them, and so it is. So arguing about tax rates, or Obamacare just keeps the ball away from the real problem, and these threads prove it. Argue on people....
