Conservative vs. Liberal Beliefs

More, don't care what you think. But, I lived in a college dome for 3 years. I lernt how to roll cigarettes there, since we all had very little money.
I'm proud of those years. First time I lived away from home.
Us Students had tons of fun too. Totally unforgetable times !

I even met my girl of my dreams there, and she came to Canada, too, for a long visit (long story)... and none of anyones business.

This is where the 'foreigness' comes to play.
In American colleges we have degrees......some take 2 years some 4 years, some more.........each one........so 3 degrees would probably take a minimum of 6 years total.......or maybe you meant 6 degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon. Either way, you're speaking a different language.

Well, Germany has a different system. Grade 9 you finish Highschool for example.
They have totally full-time school there (starting time 7:45 am, end @ 5:25pm), plus every second Saturday (which they changed from only having 1 Saturday off per month, when I was still a student).
No Spring breaks, and sommer vacation is only 4 weeks.

You cannot compare both school systems !

I think I can speak for everyone else here in that reading your posts, no one here will argue against your point made above!

You are truly in a class all your own and yo momma should be proud!

Well, some of these BC posters have never left the country, have never worked or been schooled anywhere else. Heck, some have just "boxed" all their lives with UPS.
I do wish I could have taken some advantages Germany has to offer with me to Canada or North America.
Like the 37 hr work week, 6 weeks paid vacation for everyone, the school system that keeps kids busy and out of trouble.
Of course the free dental and health bennies are great, too.
Not to forget the best most modern equipment workers enjoy with no back breaking jobs, unlimted sick days (as per perscribed by a doctor). - You get a cold or flu, your off for a week or more... all paid. No such thing as just taking a day off to hardly recover and head back to work sick.

Call it socialist or whatever, but it sure works for Germany, as they are the second largest exporter worldwide, with the very best quality !
Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW says it all.

I lernt how to roll cigarettes there, since we all had very little money. I bet that is not the only thing you you rolled.
I'm proud of those years. First time I lived away from home. That had to be tuff for you...mommy not making you the PB & J sandwiches and washing your undies.
Us Students had tons of fun too. Totally unforgetable times !

I even met my girl of my dreams there, and she came to Canada, too, for a long visit (long story)...Aw darn, we were really hoping to hear about Bertha. and none of anyones business. So why bring it up then?

That depends on whether you're talking about a scientific theory or the colloquial version.
I would be intrigued to hear how the two are different. To say "colloquial" I would think that you would include political or economic and yet even in those instances the vast array of abnormalities and derivations to any "theory" would suggest again a set of beliefs that are unprovable and thus not fact at all. That being said, If one were to take the similar spiritual axioms of all the major religions and discard those unique to each, one may actually have a scientifically observeable and quantitative theory of interconnectedness of the universe.

sam, I'm surprised you didn't catch this one. Check out the altered member names in the quoted posts.
I did catch it. I'm just considering the quote in it's rawest form, extrapolating out the ridiculous possible escalations and concluding as the movie "War Games" suggested, "The only way to win, is not to play the game." But I doubt that it's possible for us not to play.

I just Googled and it has been 28 years since "War Games" debuted in 1983.
