I have a hospital and 4 medical buildings on my route. Those doctors do way better than I do. Even with our benefits. I'm not driving a new Porsche 911 and a huge house on the water.

Most good doctors make over $100,000/year.

Of course most doctors make well over $100K. If they didn't, 99% of them wouldn't have suffered through 8 years of college and a residency and accumulated 100's of thousands in debt. As I posted early, the median salary for a general practitioner is $137K. The reason it's that "low" is the enormous costs doctors deal with. The facilities, the staff, the crazy insurance, equipment/supplies, and so much more all get taken care of before the Doctor takes their cut. So while the office takes in millions from patients, most of it goes to expenses. Most doctors still make significantly more than the statistical "median". Like all professions, the median takes into account young new doctors starting out. Senior doc's, and specialists make really good money as they should. The median for a general surgeon, for example, is about $350,000. Orthopedic surgeons and cardiologists are over $500,000. These are the doctors you see with the massive homes on the water with the new S-Class in the driveway.

True but a lot of them become successful after that and pay their debt off fast. If you're smart enough to become a doctor and smart enough to open and run your own practice, you don't usually leave your debts unaccounted for

You would think but a lot of people aren't money smart and are all about keeping up with the jones

Not all doctors and lawyers are rich. The average dr graduates with 200,000 worth of debt and your average Dr makes around 130,000 a year and it takes years to build your rep up and open your own practice as both a dr and a lawyer.

I though a lot of them became UPS center manager's and supervisors and diagnosed anyone calling in sick.

Doctors do not make what they used to, thanks to the Affordable Care act. They make nowhere near what they used to. My family Dr. of 40+ years is no longer my Dr.
He found a loophole around the Affordable care act. He is now what they call a "VIP" Doctor. You have to pay a yearly fee of $1900.00 to see him. You will see a lot more Doctor's in the future doing this. They don't accept new patients and they don't have to accept Obamacare.

I have plenty of doctors on my route and all of them are doing just as good if not better than before Obamacare. Maybe your family Dr just doesn't want you as a patient.

Ja, that "VIP Doctor" is nothing new. I first heard of it 15-20 years ago.
