She was the center manager for center 9341 in region 03/district88. Not that it has any bearing on this matter but she was gay. Her partner was on the District Attorney's staff in San Luis Obispo county. Several female workers mentioned to me that they felt "uncomfortable" with the way she always looked at them. (I'm a union steward). She fired several drivers for no reason. At times she would lose her temper and yell at people for making too much noise. The district manager finally had enough when she fired the morning mechanic and filed a police report stating he was planning to kill her. Detectives investigated and found no evidence, other than a harmless joke between the mechanic and a clerk, to substantiate her claim. At the mechanic's grievance panel, she was apparently given the option to resign before being terminated. She resigned, her partner filed the lawsuit which for reasons unknown was quickly settled. Everyone was happy to see her go. Before joining UPS she was a sheriff deputy in Southern California, assigned to the county jail. (She never spent a day on the street). The same instability led to her leaving the sheriff's department. She worked at several centers in the coast division and was an adequate full-time supervisor. However after promotion to center manager, the stress obviously was intolerable because she started to unravel like a cheap sweater. For over a year she terrorized our center, treating everyone - union and management alike- as inmates. The district labor manager finally got fed up with answering unjustifiable terminations which led to her dismissal.
