WANTED: The Bizarre Tale Of A Former Congressman On The Lam No one knows where former Congressman Walter Fauntroy is. And his friends, his family — and the police — would all like to know. According to The Washington Post, The Fauntroys filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this month, in which they claimed debts somewhere between $500,000 and $1 million. In 2006, the Fauntroy’s took out a $650,000 mortgage on their home, which they defaulted on in 2014, and have been battling foreclosure ever since. In the documents related to his bankruptcy case, Fauntroy said he recently suffered a medical emergency, but didn’t give any details. Fauntroy is also facing criminal charges for a bounced $55,000 check he wrote in 2009 for an Obama inauguration party that never happened. Fauntroy has failed to show up for several hearings related to the check, and will be arrested immediately should he return to the country.
