DHL, UPS: Deal could take until end of 2008 - Dayton Daily News

When DHL announced on May 28 its plan to hire UPS as part of a restructuring to cut costs, DHL said it had hoped to reach a deal within three months, which would have been in late August.

Spokesmen for DHL and UPS said Thursday, Sept. 18, that the companies are still negotiating and expect to reach agreement by year's end on a deal that will pay UPS up to $1 billion a year to handle DHL's cargo.

"We would anticipate an agreement by the end of the year," UPS spokesman Norman Black said.
