I think an 'unlike' button next to the 'like' button would have been more useful and clutter-free...

The concept of helpful vs. unhelpful is so abstract and it's just going to confuse anyone looking for socks...

I got use to you after a year or so.

I think that those "+" and "-" icons are parts of google's plus one feature. If you are logged in anywhere on google or its websites like youtube and you push those buttons, your privacy and possibly your anonymity are going to be violated.

Don't touch those icons , that's my advice.

No this this is not google plus or facebook etc. People were complaining to me about all the off topic posts derailing threads so I looked for a plugin that would allow members to downvote unhelpful posts.

If it's not helpful we can get rid of it.
