Does UPS management have a monthly quota on warning letters?

You'd be surprised on what others think of driver compensation... do a Google search.

I did the search. It did surprise. I don't know why, I have heard it before, but the range of people that are not happy about UPS driver pay is surprising. There was even a thread on a nursing forum complaining about UPS wages.

Some say there is no class warfare, I would say the search that I did and the responses I read, say otherwise. Instead of people demanding they get paid more, they want UPS drivers to be paid less.

I'm amazed at the number of UPS drivers who seriously believe they'd earn the same compensation package should there be no union. You'd be surprised on what others think of driver compensation...

I'm not "anti-union" by any means. I think Unions CAN do a lot of good for workers & working conditions and the like. I am a republican based more on my religious beliefs than anything else. I have been a member of religion for 30 years, I have worked at UPS for just under 7, so which do you think I'll side more with

There is NO quota for warnings letters.... But there is a requirement to give warning letters.

Pretz,I think Integrity is questioning the amount of warning letters.
When I got one for a late air,I asked my sup if he received bonuses for
handing these out,he said no I just don't want you having late air.
The truth is,that if you have a thick file on you and your new center manager decides
he doesn't like you,it makes it much easier to get rid of you.
I've had about 15 different center manager's in my 23 years as a driver,3 of them
were human beings,the rest were self centered pricks with production
through intimidation attitudes.I gave one of my on cars an official looking
warning letter once for failing to follow instructions when I told him to send
a feeder to pick up 12 skids when I had an optional.The p/u was missed totally.
He got a laugh out of it.

I would also add that warning letters can be used to make a point.

When telematics was introduced to our center, a warning letter was issued to a 30+ year driver for not punching out on break to take a phone call. Telematics showed him sitting for 10 minutes and when asked, the driver said he pulled over to answer a call.

The driver has/had an excellent record, comes into work and does a fine job every day. He is well-respected in my center.

I would guess that it took less than 2 minutes for the entire center to know he received the warning letter and what it was for. The letter drove home the point of what telematics was capable of and it was the only warning letter issued.

I was on TAW at the time and asked a supe why that particular driver got the letter. He smiled and said, "Who else could we have given one to that would have generated the response?" That was all he would say.

The letter was grieved and removed from his file, but the message was already in place.

If PCMs fixed all our issues, we would not have any issues.

They'll do that for terminations also. Terminate the slacker who has it coming and nothing will change because everyone know he probably earned it. Terminate, and of course give him his job back, of a respected hard working individual and the center will crap itself because if they'll do that to him what will they do to me? And production increases for a while also.

My checkbook is getting lighter. Retired upsers are looking at a much lighter checkbook. Oh right. Bush is at fault

I hope it never happened but if it does and I'm retired and done with my service ill be saying I told you so. Rich people or republicans don't want you to make what you make. Think about this. Does you manager or your managers managers manager think you should be paid what you do?? Nope and they vote republican. I used to be a very big religios zealot. Then I had a revolation. Voting my faith is going to make my family need and I WANT them to have more that want. I want them to have BETTER than me a real poor boy as a youth. I will fight tooth and nail for these people(my wife & kids) and voting to protect thm is what I have to do. Jesus will understand this and love me anyway.

go to the banks on "check day" in the urban poorer areas when they get their ,monthly deposit. Ask them who they vote for. Democrats as that is what the dems want. People that depend on them.

If you give everything to people for free, what motivation is there by anybody to seek out employment and become self-sustaining?
