Driving Availability On the UPSJobs Website

Hi everyone,

UPS and this forum always emphasize that Full-Time Drivers are hired from within, after years of package handling. What then are the "Package Delivery Driver" openings that are always listed in many locales on the UPSJobs.com website? Does this have something to do with that 6:1 ratio?

I believe these positions need to be posted for legal purposes. Also, it's always better to have too many candidates than too few. I know most people here tell you there is a long wait. However, there are a lot of extended centers in UPS that hire off the street. UPS is big... big enough that "general rules" are just that: general.
