I am considering getting my CDL in January and even though I know getting into UPS freight right away is near impossible from what I heard I am still considering trying. I didnt get a chance to ask my friend at my HUB today some questions though about driving freight.
First what is the work schedule normally like for a dry van driver? Everytime I look at job postings on ups.com for dry van drivers it says you'll be on the road 1-5 days at a time. To me that is pretty vague so I'm asking on here what I could expect possibly. The only thing that scares me about driving trucks even in general is being away from home days on end without being able to have any kind of family life.
Second what kind of pay do they start out on?
