Well, if you haven't heard yet our "fearless" leaders in Washington have decided to take the chicken ***** way out and extend this ongoing crusade for another month. In an article I saw, the House voted to extend the current provisions for another month delaying it yet again.

The actual bills however; the Senate version and the House version still have not even formally gone into conference yet. They have been stalled and only have been discussed by "party staffers" at the lower levels.

Just more of the wait and see game I suppose.....................***?b

More time for Fred to write checks and twist the arms of the politicians he owns.

Actually, Senators Alexander and Corker from the state of Tn are blocking the naming of conferees. I didn't know Senators could do that but that's the word from the contacts I have. Maybe we need to give their offices a call and tell them to stop this nonsense. Here's a link http://senate.gov

Hmmm. Wonder why Senators from Fredessee would be interested in doing that?

It appears as I research current legislation and am trying to understand what the issues are here... that both UPS and FedEX employees are ALL missing the point.

Our government is broken when our representives allow themselves to be bought by anyone. Money and special interests have for too long bought and paid for legislation in our Congress. We must stand up as true, freedom loving Americans and recognize the threat to our Republic, our very way of lives. If UPS is so willing to push legislation that serves only UPS, then what does that say of UPS. On the same note, if FedEX is opposing legislation only because it does not suit them, although good legislation, what does that say of FedEx?

NO Amendment should be added to a bill that doesn't have anything to directly do with the bill ! End of story. When did it become so difficult to pass reasonable legislation that EVERY bill must be some big monster bill that every Congressman can just add whatever they want to, reguardless of the issue?

Although I know it probably won't be well received here, I appreciate what Ronald Regan once said:

You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream -- the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order -- or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, "The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits."

"Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for your community? Realize that the doctor's fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can't socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he'll eat you last. - Ronald Reagan -October 27, 1964

Our Constitutional Republic today is in the greatest danger of survival as it has been in it's 234 history. If we continue down the current liberal progressive path of big government, corrupt government, we will lose the right to have such discussions as you all have on this forum, we WILL loose our right to free speech, free association, our right to due process under the law.

If UPS wants to beat FedEx in the market place, let them do it by providing better service at a cheaper price... same for FedEx... it's called a "Free Market", it's called "Capitalism". We don't need either company, or any labor union spending millions on buying YOUR representives vote.

This is suppose to be a govenment Of the People, By the People and For the People.

Have not money and special interests corrupted our electorial and governmental process for too long?

The language in section 806 of the Faa Reauthorization bill deserves to be in the bill. It removes all non Faa licensed employees from the Railway Labor Act and properly places them under the National Labor Relations Act. Why doesn't this belong in an FAA bill since it has to do with the FAA??

This is correct. It deals directly with the classification of airline employees verses non-airline employees. Also, fedex originally got the RLA classification is a similar bill.

I'm certainly not arguing the merits, pro or con, of this specific legislation. If all you or anyone got from my comments was that I was against the legislation, then I didn't communicate my position well enough.

When ANY legislation is inacted ONLY because of money given to legislators and in the interest ONLY of those giving that money... it is wrong! Let all legislation be enacted because it is for the good of the people, all the people. Enacting legislation should not be a bidding process and unfortunately this is the level of corruption our government has sunk to.

Our beloved Fred would disagree with you because he has shown over and over again that legislation should only be enacted that benefits him. He also believes that those with money should make the rules the rest of us have to live by. In other words, he is talking out of his butt when he says this is a Brown Bailout.

In reference to this legislation I would say the classification does have to do will this bill. Though I am in agreement with you about the corruptions of lobbying.

Then whether it is this legislation or any other issue... look at and see who you are voting for in November and ask yourself... are they going to represent me or those special interests that buy their vote? Unfortunately, for the most part you will find that the greatest percentage of incumbents are representing only those special interests that are keeping them in power... the final decision though is up to you. Make your voice heard in November and vote the incumbents out... Republican, Democrat, it doesn't matter. If they're progressives, they want nothing more than big government and socialism, and they're on both sides of the isle. We can not do worse electing a new Congress, the one we have is destroying our Republic. I for one don't care whether you call it "Europen Style Socialism", Communism, Marxisn, of Fascism, they all redefine and requrie an end to what has been and is the longest standing free Republic in the history of the world.

Daniel Webster, stated in clear terms what he saw for our future.

"I can comprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe. Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter; from the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government. From their carelessness and negligence, I confess I do apprehend some danger. I fear they may place too much implicit confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they will become the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent and they will be vigilant, give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy."

Our founders gave us the power; "We the People" have allowed our government to slide into this festering mess that has taken years to be created. Now "We the People" MUST apply the remedy before it's to late and we wake up one morning without our Constitution and all the liberties, rights and FREEDOM it has provided us.

Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. The course of history has shown that as a government grows, liberty decreases. - Thomas Jefferson

I'm sorry, I don't know the reference to "Integrity", other than it's something we could use a lot more of in our Congress and in our President...

I recognize that this forum is primarly for UPS employees, etc... I simply started commenting when I started researching the issues with the FAA Reauthorization Act and the corporte battle going on to buy our legistators.

I certainly mean no disrespect but have only wished to express my views on the issue and that more than anything we ALL need to wake up and realize the extent to which money and special interest influences are threathening our Constitution and our very freedoms.

I passionately believe that "MORE government CAN NOT fix BAD government" and the government that governs least, governs best. I think history, throughout ALL of history, supports me in this conclusion. If for some reason you don't agree, you either believe in a socialist form of government or you need to study history more completely. If you're not familiar with the "Eight Steps of Democracy", please Google it and read up on it. Also, if you are not familiar with the "Cloward & Piven Strategy", do the same. It will answer a lot of questions as to what the game plan is that this administration is following.

I love my country passionately. I served proudly in the Navy and have traveled the world and appreciate the incredible wisdom our founding fathers exhibited when putting our Republic and our Constitution together. And yet I believe equally as passionately, that our Constitution and our Republic have never been in greater danger than they are today. We are on the brink of losing both. We have got to find the courage and the common consenus to restore our country to greatness, to restore our government to one "Of the people, By the people and For the People" so that it will not perish from this earth. I have NO doubt in my mind that we can fix this mess... we have allowed it to fester, now WE must fix it. Americans are the proudest, most creative, most generous, most FREE people in history. We will not fail when called to task and understand what is at stake.

All I'm trying to do is get people to understand what is at stake and then we will find the solution... WE ARE AMERICANS AND WE DO NOT FAIL !

I haven't had a chance to check your site out, but you sound very much like a Libertarian. If you are, just out yourself,OK? No disrespect intended, but if Hillsdale College (Libertarian University) is on fire, are they going to turn away the fire department because they are a governmental agency? Why do you suppose it is that governments run many public programs anyway? It's because there isn't any profit to be made in most service-type agencies, so government foots the bill. Yes, please eliminate the state mental hospitals and only admit those that can pay their way, so all of those crazies can come out to play with the rest of us. That's where the Libertarian argument falls apart.
