The late Sci-fi author Frank Herbert in his Dune series used the following quote in book 1:
Why TSA, Wars, State Defined Diets, Seat-Belt Laws, the War On Drugs, Police Brutality, and Efforts to Control the Internet, Are Essential to the State
Is the induced perception of fear the first step to establish control for the benefit of others?
Butler Shaffer, professor of Law at Southwestern University nailed that thought with a piece entitled:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
