FedEx wins US appeal on contractor classification - Reuters
U.S. package-delivery company FedEx Corp (FDX.N) said on Tuesday its FedEx Ground subsidiary has won a U.S. Court of Appeals decision that said independent contractors are independent business owners, rather than employees.
"Court decisions like this and a recent state court decision in Washington State ... confirm that FedEx Ground contractors are independent business owners who choose to own and operate their own enterprises as they like," FedEx spokesman Maury Lane said in a statement.
