Have you ever ran the routes of the people you are complaining about?

No and that is irrelevant. I am friends with the two unassigned drivers that mainly cover those routes and they have no problem with running the air or ground that is supposed to be on those trucks. As a matter of fact....the former bid drivers that were on those routes were never able to choose which stops they could run. The drivers I'm referring to aren't effected much, if at all, by running the stops they always try to pass on to others and that is why most of the rest of us have a problem with it.

Also....these guy are not only the first ones back to the buildng almost every day but are arriving between 4:30-5:00. So, it's not like those air stops, that are supposed to be theirs, are going to keep them out late. I'm not wrong here. Many of the other drivers in my center agree. I'm not the only one affected by it.

Thats a very good question Govols. I give up though. I've been doing this for over 27 years and now have a rookie telling me to pay special attention to what he is saying. I was trying to shed a bit of light on what extended drivers deal with. I know this job is not easy for any of us. It's better to be an extended driver of course. That's why the high seniority drivers bid on those runs. We have been in town for years. We know it's tough. We also know staying in town for an hour and 1/2 when you have 300 hundred miles to travel is ridiculous. That is why I said air drivers are needed. We have a few here and they are a big help.

Look, I already told you these drivers don't have the same type of routes that you described. Pay attention! It doesn't matter if you have 27 years or 1 year as a driver. You still should have to do your job. And I don't need to be a veteran driver to tell you to pay attention. Where did you get that rediculous idea?!?! You obviously need someone to do it.

He's not even full-time but he knows everything already.

I have a 14 year old that thinks the same way.

Yeah, it takes years of experience and full-time status to have common sense. LOL! You guys are a trip. The way I figure it....since you seem to be offended by the facts that I have pointed out here....and since you keep playing the "age and seniority cards"....I can only assume that you guys are they type of drivers I'm describing. Maybe not neccessarily on rural routes but the type pass the buck on to other drivers. If not then why are you defending these guys? Get over your egos.

Our center, among many other centers in the area, has been slowly fazing PAS/EDD into our Preload. I recently had my first taste of it on road. So far at the end of each day most of the drivers here, including myself, end up wondering what the hell happened while the IE guys were relooping our center. One thing I've noticed already is that EDD seems to have many drivers running "figure eights" through a route when it would be wiser to run stops down one side and come back throught the other. Common sense would dictate that but instead I'm supposed to zig zag around and through areas to get to others and the end result is struggling to get businesses and schools off before they close. I could go on and on about why I don't like EDD, so far, but anyone that's been comming to this site long enough has already heard it from someone else before. I just thought I'd put my two cents out on it. And one more thing....I've had plenty of customers complain about "our new system" too. LOL!

Just dont make any left turns or do not back up and you will be fine...

I don't make assumptions about someone's route unless I've ran it myself.

Let me guess, they are also the drivers that you feel like don't give you enough "respect"?

Their is no assumption. You'd know that if you had decent reading comprehension. But I'll repeat AGAIN so that even you can understand. I have a couple of friends that run those routes when the bid guys go on vacation. They agree with me. Also...I happen to know the areas that they refuse to run air in are right next to the highway they have to take in route to their first stops. And finally....the stops are PALed to their trucks and are in EDD. Is that "assumption" enough for ya?

That was a good one! LOL! Yeah, I really care about how much respect I get from people that I'm not even around for more than one minute (the length of our PCMs) each morning. LOL!

THERE is an assumption. YOU have never ran it.

Are you really that dense? I don't have to run those routes because those routes aren't even the issue here! It's the fact that the air is supposed to be theirs and is even PALed to them and refusing to run them that is the issue. None of the other guys that run those routes have a problem with running the air because....A) it is on the way, in many cases doesn't even require turning off the main highway at all and B) because it's SUPPOSED to be on their routes anyway! You understand me yet? Or are you even capable of understanding? LOL! I don't think so. The only assumption being made here is your assumption that the routes in question are anything like the before mentioned extended routes that Dammor described and I've tried repeatively to tell you that they are not. What is so hard to understand?

Big arrow, settle down. You will pop a vein before you are 25 if you don't. Here's an idea, if you feel you are being screwed by the extended drivers go to your dispatch specialist or your immediate supervisor and let them know. Or better yet confront the drivers screwing you. Tell them to pay attention and to just do their jobs. I'm sure your problems will be solved.

PAS/EDD is really messed up when first put in. It is also messed up years after of it being put in. After some time we tend to adjust. It requires some teamwork from the drivers to get it done, but most of us get there. I hope the drivers in your area will get there. Your abrasive attitude will make that difficult though. I work with drivers that irritate me everyday and have found that they respond to my concerns better if I don't tell them to pay attention and just do their jobs. Most know how already. A few will never work well together. Try not to be one of those. Your life will improve if you do.

Abrasive attitude huh? I guess most of us in this center have it then because I've heard just about everyone comment about the drivers I have mentioned. So, it would seem that they are the ones with abrasive attitudes. Not me. Nor the majority of the rest of the drivers. When someone refuses to do their work I think it's safe to say they have the attitude problem. Not the ones that recognize that fualt. Going to the dispatch sup won't work those drivers will stay out as late as they can even if they only have 10-20 stops added just to "prove a point." And you know that messes up the sups numbers so it's not worth it to them. Sorry to sound so "abrasive" but I'm not going to sit here and be made out to be the bad guy because I'm pointing out that others refuse to do their work. Does a witness to a murder get sent to jail for turning in the murderer? I don't think so. You are right about one thing though and that is that there are always a few that will not work well together and that is really what this is all about. It was supposed to be anyway.
