The first day of IRS hearings came and went without any if the hype the GOP promised to prove making an appearance. This dog and pony show was nothing more than getting the perfect "soundbite' in the form of a question, to be used over and over on FOX news everyday. The answer ISNT the important part of the dog and pony show.

One of the GOP knuckleheads asked the former commissioner "IS THIS STILL AMERICA?"

Really? is this what the GOP came to ask? Was the IRS suppose to supply a reasonable answer to this? We have a check and balances system in place that makes america what it is. The fact that there are hearings demonstrates that this is America at work.

What a waste of time with NOTHING proven.

Peace

"dog and pony show....."
"Is this still America?"

Gosh, I don't know.
In case any of you didn't notice, there's a muslim flag in the background........
Kinda makes some of trickster's assertions of the past have some credibility.
But then TOS probably isn't gonna say anything about that.

I'm actually shocked at the "so called" leader of the IRS. What a slouch !!. Fits right in with the rest of the "leaders"........

Hey TOS-

You might want to watch "Agenda.....Grinding America Down".

It's available on youtube and is 93 minutes long.

You might learn something.

Don’t insult our intelligence.

Via TPM:
The Internal Revenue Service on Friday issued a statement to ProPublica saying that the agency’s release of pending confidential tax-exempt applications from conservative groups last year had been found to be “inadvertent and unintentional disclosures by the employees involved.”

In the statement, the IRS said the cases had been referred to and reviewed by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.

“When these two issues were previously raised concerning the potential unauthorized disclosures of 501(c)(4) application information, we immediately referred these cases to TIGTA [Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration] for a comprehensive review,” the statement said. “In both instances, TIGTA found these instances to be inadvertent and unintentional disclosures by the employees involved.”

Seems the GOP knew about this problem at IRS for almost a year so why blow it up now?

It wasn't the republicans blowing it up that pushed it to the fore front. It was the IRS publicly admitting they were targeting the president's political opponents. And if I recall correctly there were several news stories last summer of tea party organizations being targeted/harassed by the IRS, but it wasn't taken very seriously until the IRS finally admitted to doing so.

So you're agreeing the GOP ignored the issue until now. Begs the question again of why?
