LEADS, used to avoid falls and spills. Safety tip of the month.

Look before stepping
Establish firm footing
Adjust to condition
Dont run, walk briskly
Stay off belts, conveyors, etc

Three days of training and I'm a safety expert.

We were taught WESLA.

Walk at a brisk pace, do NOT run.
Establish firm footing.
Stay off of belts, chutes, slides and rollers.
Look before stepping.
Adjust to changing conditions.

I don't think they have an acronym for wall building yet. If it was told it I have forgotten already. Start at the trailer wall with a nice cornerstone package, keep the shelf level, leave space behind the wall for small/irregular package. Smalls bags go ontop or behind. Use the step stool thing to stay in your powerzone. Don't wander the belt looking for the perfect package.

That's what my classroom education taught me and most of it has held true during my first day. The whole hand-to-surface concept lasted two seconds. Heavy boxes drop to the floor, why fight gravity?

It might be the first time that poor kid saw the inside of a bar. And many of the people in some of those places are best not seen in the light of day.
