First year driver question

Had an ODC clerk that also drove on Saturdays go FT driver. She told UPS she should be paid her Sat. wage ($24.+) instead of lower starting driver wage($16.+). Worked for a while untill payroll said no and made her pay back the overages.

So if she was an regular PT air driver at top rate and then goes to package, she would then start at nearly $25/hr? Seems like a good idea if one can get a PT air gig and then move to package. After two years as a package driver in progression, your rate is $20.75. While if you go from PT air to package you start at nearly $10 more per hour. That is if it's all true, that your rate can't go down going from PT to FT.
