FLIRTING

Hitting on someone is perfectly acceptable within limits and given parameters. I don't much like the idea of married people doing that, people get hurt that way.
I'm a firm believer that a man and a woman can be close platonic friends, in fact I have several female friends that men find desirable and attractive and we are just friends. As long as everyone keeps the same perspective in the relationship, there is no harm no foul. If the situation begins to change for either party, this needs to be addressed ASAP to avoid a good thing going bad.

oh yeah, those 5 plus minute conversations can get ya in deep trouble. LOL

Yes married people doing it is a bit weird, but I AM married, and I confess when flirted with I can flirt back but it is all about who with. I have had the:slap: fed ex guy flirt with me at door, but the UPS guys that come to my house are out of where I work, SO haha, won't happen but has in the building. BUT, there are two married guys that I work with and we have a great flirting back and forth that is FUNNY and works for us, and when you know nothing will happen with it, I think is all good?

for all you boston fans, that there avatar is a picture of Mookie Wilson running the basepaths while Bill Buckner seems to be having a hard time with a ground ball, probably happened in a meaningless exhibition game, so no harm. just kind of thinking out loud how many titles have the mets won since then

They won plenty of titles since then: The coke heads , the september swooners, the choke artists. But you have to admit, victory was just a routine grab and step on the base away. It had to hurt. Something like this:

I'm married, and when I'm at work I'm busy.

I avoid flirting because it can lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

I am friendly to everyone, but I dont talk to women any differently than I do men.

I dont say or do anything that I wouldnt do if my wife was standing there next to me.

In this day and age, simle misunderstandings can lead to lawsuits, false accusations and unfounded charges of harrassment. I dont need the headache.

I try to deal with people as if my wife was with me. Call me old fashioned but that may be one reason we've been happily married for 28 years. "A man's got to know his limitations" - Dirty Harry

This was my exact piont in one of my threads. All us married Men, should take heed to these points. This way, we wont' find ourselves in a compromising position(no pun intended). We should also work as if our Boss, was also standing next to us.

If it were not for flirting, being flirted with, I do believe I would lose all reason for living.

OK, maybe too strong - I'm married, never hide the ring, and would never consider going too far with it - it is not an option - but if it is just fun on both sides, it puts a spring in the step & a smile on your face.

Wife knows ALL about it - hell, its how we met

seems as though the more insecure and low self esteem types flirt more than those that are completely confident in themselves. that has been my experiences. talking about married adults with families, not young singles. young single people should be flirting!

It's one of the things my wife likes about me. I don't wear a wedding ring, as it gets caught on everything at UPS, not that I really need one. My commitment is my word, but I am a huge flirt.

never hide the ring

I'm going to take you a little out of context here. Up until I was relieved of duty in February, I was working in a college and was under a strict no fraternization policy. Several of my female students got a little too personal. I flipped out and bought a fake ring. I told my boss before I bought it so we didn't have to have an awkward discussion. Boss' boss didn't care for it much, though, and I removed it a couple weeks later. -Rocky

Sleeve, so much for your "theory". STUG most certainly does not lack self esteem and appears to be secure in all that he does.

Firstly, it depends on your definition and LEVEL of flirting.

Secondly, notice you completely ignored what I said. I said "it seems as though....FLIRT MORE THAN THOSE..." I didn't say that completely well-grounded, confident married people do not flirt. Maybe I should write 7 paragraphs next time to cover all bases just for you.

Don't bother. Just thought it funny that you wrote what you did and then Steve posted his right after yours, completely discrediting your "theory".

outward confidence doesn't always mean inner confidence. It can be a built up manifestation of insecurity that is projected outward via pathology. wee back to my psych days in school!

Sleeve--relax--I'm just having a little fun with you.

BTW, you were right on both of your points--Steve just happens to be an enigma.

I'm relaxed. theres no right and wrong...just opinions. Steve seems like a nice guy and therefore its probably the women that flirt with him and he just hams it up!

? Here? On Earth?

You ever notice that the MAJORITY of women against pornography are ugly as sin? Or that most environmentalists would not survive a night alone in the forest? For some reason, your post reminded me of those factoids, I don't know why.....
