Not Obama.
That seems to be it.

I find it all fascinating, since Obama is hardly different from Bush, policy-wise. I'm sure race has nothing to do with it.

Romney and Ryan so far have been pretty thin on actual plans and pretty thick on outright lies.

Even Fox had to say something:
Fox News' Sally Kohn: Paul Ryan's RNC Speech 'Was Attempt To Set World Record For Blatant Lies'

With an entire campaign based on lies and deceit, one has to wonder how long this can go on before it implodes on the Republicans.

As witnessed here, some people soak up the lies, but most people get really tired of them. If you can't be truthful, and base your entire convention on a lie taken out of context, what are you really offering?

I posted this story earlier on the RNC convention thread, but it still has yet to be Approved.

You are correct though, the whole convention so far is going to be easy pickens for the democrats next week, as the distortions they are using have NO LEGS.

Take Artur Davis contribution for example. He was a former democrat who in his last run for office in Alabama, LOST THE ENTIRE BLACK VOTE in a defeat. For that, he decided to change parties and join the republicans.

In his speech at the convention, he agreed to speak about the DEBUNKED lie about OBAMA stopping the work requirement for welfare. Now, what do the republicans care? They dont, as long as they have a person of color saying such a thing, its ok in their book, even if its a LIE.

What the GOP has to fear in this election is THEIR OWN WORDS, and that you will see come back to haunt them NEXT WEEK.

So far, after three days of the RNC convention, ROMNEY still trails in all the polls.

No bounce.

Lets see how far worse it gets after tonights debacles.

Peace

So, all of you are okay with lying? How do you know what to expect from R/R if all you've been told is based on lies?

Right now there is a parallel with Romney/Obama and Reagan/Carter in 1980. They were neck and neck in the polls and they were having one of the hottest summers on record. The economy was in the tank too. Well, eventually things cooled off and Reagan pulled ahead and won the election and, with the help of a bartisan house and senate that understood what compromising meant, was able to raise our country out of the funk that Carter caused. Oh and along the way was the main force behind bringing down the Soviets. I hope that parallel is re-lived.

There is ZERO comparision between REAGAN v CARTER...

Under Carter, unemployment was at 6.1% at its highest point, inflation was through the roof, Interest rates were the highest in the history of the USA.

Since 2009, inflation is under control, unlike BUSH2, interest rates are at the LOWEST point in HISTORY (unlike BUSH2) the stock market has seen a 100% increase under OBAMA (unlike BUSH2 where it crashed to 6800)

It isnt the same situation other than polling numbers. But even those arent in ROMNEYS favor. McCain took the lead in all the polls the week after his convention, then quickly faded to a double digit trail shortly thereafter.

ROMNEY/RYAN is worse than MCCAIN/PALIN in likeability.

Today, the banking industry was saved, the housing market has turned around, the stock market is soaring, money is being made, the world is safer, jobs are being created and entirely new industries created, the domestic auto industry has recovered and you want to say the country is in worse shape then when OBAMA took office???

Sorry bro, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Paul Ryan lied about his marathon time? Really?

Can he not help lying? I really mean that. He seems pathological.

While I do think Bush was a Socialist in many ways, he did not have an expressed purpose to change America into France.

It's all about "not Obama", and the thinly-veiled racial component is a big part of the GOP platform. Kolob help us if Romney is elected.

Just curious. As a Libertarian, how do you feel about the way Ron Paul was thrown under the bus at the RNC?

Ron did not have right to anything.

He was at someone else's party and as such, subject to their rules.

I see no contradiction with Libertarian views and his inability to promote his non-Republican views at the Republican convention.

Sorry HOAX, but RON PAUL earned DELEGATES in the primary, and had a right to speak.

I assume that's a rule that you made up ... we all know this would be totally out of character. :wink2:

It was not a rule that the RNC put in place and they get to make the rules.

You may not like the rules but that's a totally different point.
