Gamestop Now Pickup and Delivery at Same Time

The scheduled pickup is in the pickup log of the driver who delivers the bulk of that commercial complex. I swing by later as a courtesy---none of the cover drivers do it nor would I expect them to.

So I'm a little confused, if a cover driver is on the commercial complex route, are they actually seeing a UPS Driver 3x's during the course of the day assuming you are not on vacation?

1 - Delivery @ 10
2 - Commercial Complex Pickup
3 - When you pickup (won't go into how it is counted for)

Keep in mind their corporate office has told everybody they are only going to see a UPS driver once during the day.

If so, we have a customer who is paying a lower price for what is considered to be a less comprehensive service who is getting better service than most of our customers for what I agree are likely intra-company packages that they don't want to pay a lot to have picked up. The only person you seem to be serving is a Manager at a store who doesn't mind getting a service for free, are you getting games out of this deal or something?

thats what threw the twist in on this thread.... Dave is going out of his way to make his customer happy, yet thats not what the company is paying for

I have a GS on route, and the commit is noon, but the pickup is at 11:15? Child please. No way am I going to double dip a business that close together. Especially not with having a commit for a business of 11:00 that usually has 100+, and has to be carted across the mall. Been making a late pickup all the time.

Am I the only one who noticed that the Gamestop Manager is referred to as "her" and "she". Sometimes we go out of the way for those "special" customers. :peaceful:

It's called going "above and beyond", "going the exta mile", etc. Some of us don't have a problem with it. We don't think twice. We are rarely, if ever, called on it, and if we are it is not the huge problem you guys make it out to be.

I have been instructed before to add packages to another pickup's log. I can see how one would say "it's dishonest", but really? What gregious lie has been told? Why would LP investigating this, especially if the pkgs are scanned? Does the company whose count was inflated get charged more? The only repercussion from doing this is a driver gets proper credit for the pickup piece, as we get little-if any-credit for "special counts". (As an aside, Gamestop pkgs are not "special counts"-returns or internet shipments, so to add them to the special counts is, ironically, dishonest.)

I visit pickups multiple times in a day (however, gamestop is not one, unless they ask me to). I am not trying to impress anyone, and I doubt Dave is. I get a deep satisfaction from providing service "above and beyond" what is asked. It keeps the customer happy, which I hope will keep them as customers of brown; besides, hearing "Thanks for helping us out" never gets old.

I used to add additional pieces to other pickups. Then my dispatch sup asked me about miles I was travelling "to nowhere". Now I enter such pickups as "unscheduled pickup". I do not get credit for the pickup stop, but I do get credit for the pieces. More importantly, it shows on my delivery record, so it doesn't look like i am just trying to rack up miles.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
As brownmonster stated earlier I deliver Gamestop while I am delivering my NDA. I barely get the air off on time---throw in a scheduled pickup and some of that air may be late. I don't do late air.

Guess what you might have to just deliver straight air and come back to it later. Runners never learn though.

We have had drivers asked to explain 20 minute gaps. 3 minute gaps are not a concern (yet).

I should add that I am a scratch driver and they tend to give scratch drivers more leniency.

This will be my last post on this thread. Thanks to all for your comments.

That sounds like a challenge to me! :wink2:

I am equal to the challenge.
I challenge Dave to break his vowel of silence and tell us if he works for free ahead of his scheduled start time?
Does he take his full complement of breaks within the prescribed time frame?
We have already heard in other threads how he makes the methods/rules fit his ego-maniacal agenda.
Should he be able to start a thread and retire it as if he made a point?

Lets dig a little deeper on this subject.

The last Democrat I voted for was Jammy Carter ...even campaigned for him.
The last Republican I voted for was Reagan ... 4 years of Carter and more thought turned me from a Democrat to a Republican by 1980.
8 years of Reagan turned me into a Libertarian.
I strongly disliked Bush Jr in regards to uncontrolled spending and unnecessary wars.
I did not think there was an appreciable difference between a Democrat and a Republican until Obama.

That's really pretty interesting since many would argue his policies have been very much like his republican predecessor.

Most people are not historians and not interested in the development of the Western European Socialist Democracies in post-WWII.
They only see the financial problems in Western Europe with no insight of how they inched towards their current state.
The US has accelerated those same trends under Bush Jr and even more so under Obama while Western Europe is trying to curb their Socialism and become more like the US.
If Obama is re-elected the US and Western Europe may pass each other in their trending.
May do it as well if Romney is elected. :sad-little:
