Gas Prices

ImWaitingForTheDay

Annoy a conservative....Think for yourself
$5.59 in downtown Los Angeles and a tanker left last week from chevron california to mexico, yet they claim we have no extra fuel laying around and thats why prices are so high here in california.

In the meantime, oil companies here in California are raking in HUGE PROFITS by ripping off california customers.

What california needs is regulations on the oil companies.. Shutting off their ability to sell off our surpluses to mexico and creating a false shortage and raising prices on consumers while shutting down refineries and selling them in between quarters.

Free market bullcrap.

Those same repukes complain about regulations, but allow crap like this to happen in the golden state. Gas here should be around 1.75 a gallon.

Well if you feel that way about it , contact Gov Brown and inform him that the state's budget needs to eliminate all those costly social welfare programs so that you can have cheaper gas .
Supply & demand....less cars on the road = more available gas .

God, you are such an anti-capitalist Commie! We need to let the free market reign, and then gas will go down as the "magic" works! It is hilarious to watch the Righties talk about the free market, when it is anything but free.

There are no virtually no REPUBLICANS left in California.

So go ahead and try to blame them.

It might make you feel better.

Or just eliminate our special SUMMER BLEND gas.

Thus allowing us to get gas from Nevada, Arizona and Oregon in the summer.

That would stop most of this artificial shortage crap.

There is no free market in this country anymore. Corporate handouts, corporate welfare, taxpayer loans to business, etc. has taken care of that.

THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SHORTAGE IN CALIFORNIA.

Last year, going into summer, California was sitting on MAXED out reserves of refined unleaded fuels. In other words, there was no more room for more oil.

Chevron, and BP, began to sell Californias reserves to MEXICO in order to bring inventory levels down to a 30 day supply. IN addition, BP sold its refineries to TESORO Corp out of TEXAS, and they systematically began shutting down refineries in California limiting production.

Next, we had the Mystery explosion at the Chevron facility, shutting down the plant and limiting supply.

Of course, there is no federal investigation on the explosion, even though, historically, when prices hit record lows, there ALWAYS is an explosion at a refining plant in california.

In the meantime, despite having RECORD levels of inventory in summer of 2014, the oil companies have managed to shed those record levels and bring down the supply to a point where demand exceeded supply and driving up prices FALSELY.

Activists groups are all over this issue and there is talk in Sacramento to curb the oil companies in California.

This "free market" scam has gone on long enough. Its time to put the oil companies in check or have the oil industry taken over by the government and turn it into a nonprofit.
