I would like to think so, but honestly I think this race was an anomaly. Murkowski was a popular senator who lost to a nutjob in the primary only because so few people voted. She'll caucus with the republicans and in 6 years she'll probably be the republican nominee.

True enough but when events get people to thinking outside the box, all bets are off and anything can happen. I have no reason to believe anything much will change over the next 2 years and more frustration will just set in deeper, especially if people think they have no where to turn. It is then when fed up people may turn away from the status quo and begin to turn to alternatives. Time will have to play out and I was even surprised at the people who even didn't bother to vote this time around. Even my 80 year old dad who felt voting was like breathing even said "screw em'" this most recently election. Trust me in that this was a true paradign shift!
