God Bless Moreluck !!!

I am sitting in a treatment room, alone. The sound of music either draws unwanted attention or attention from unexpected people.

The other day I stammered out to ask if it was okay to listen to a song from Camelot play on my laptop. The response was luke warm, that was before I played it. The mood changed and it was nice to listen to a few folks sing to my laptop.

Today...I didn't bother to ask if I could play the music...I just cranked Kate Smith belting out God Bless America !!!

I raise my glass to you, More!!! :happy-very:

You made a difference in my day. You made a difference in the Outpatient department where I am currently posting this message.

So as I started this post...so I end it....God Bless You Moreluck and God Bless America!!!
Message to everyone

I did not view this thread as a political slam.

I saw appreciation for Cinema and Kate Smith.

I stated in my response, those around me appreciated the music playing on my computer.

I also stated More made a difference. I will take this a step further.

Using my wireless connection to access the 'net.
I was blessed, the opportunity to open the eyes of several Seniors to the many offerings on the WWW.

I was asked if I could find the Rat Pak, Ray Charles, Micheal Jackson, etc on this magical box called a laptop. I took requests like a DJ at a low budget AM radio station.

I then took them to the WWII registry (my pet project) and we looked up names.

My husband will not be happy with the $$$ I spent on airtime. However, it was worth every dime to bring music into their day and show them the "information highway."

All I know is that More and Kate Smith opened the door to another world for several people. Each person may travel a different path but nevertheless...they all had a smile on their faces.:happy-very:

Smiles don't come easy when a needle is pumping poison in your arm to kill a monster that decided to move in like a carpetbagger in the night.

More made a difference in my day by posting Kate Smith.

Thank you for all the messages expressing concern.

I will be okay. I am guilty and I have been accused of being too resilient.

Someone tell Don McLean that music can save your mortal soul.
I am witness to it.

When I first posted on this thread. I was the youngest person in a room full of people undergoing either steroid treatment, chemotherapy or family members supporting those people. I had my laptop but I forgot my earphones.

The music from my computer made a difference in their day. It got to the point where I was starting to take requests and I enjoyed my time with a big fat needle stuck in my arm surrounded by strangers who quickly became friends.

I'm still walking despite multiple sclerosis. Today I wonder if God took them home but I will never forget their faces when they heard my contraption, play music dear to their souls with moving pictures.

I heard from my sister last week (the one with MS). She had to quit her job because it was physically too demanding (she is an RN but was being forced to do work more appropriate for a nurse's aide). She found another job but couldn't get the 30 hours required to get insurance so she has to pay for her own insurance out of pocket. Her doctor said she is having cognitive problems related to her MS. She needs to avoid stress but her situation is creating a great deal of stress for her so her physical condition is deteriorating. I hope you are in better shape than she is.

Conundrums

The definition of the word conundrum is something that is puzzling or confusing.

Here are six conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:

1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

Think about it! That, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century.
Makes you wonder who is doing the math.

These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

Funny how that works.

And here's another one worth considering...
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it.....

And last but not least,

3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Am I the only one missing something?

YA you are. TAX CUTS for the rich mean BENEFIT cuts for the poor and the military.

You vote for the party that wants it this way, so you have NO RIGHT to complain about it.

TOS.
