I am new to Brown Cafe. I work at Fed Ex and am considering also working at UPS. I am on the site to share information about advantages of working for UPS versus Fed Ex.

stopsperhour, I am feeling the same way. You wouldn't believe the chaos on the ramp loading aircraft. People just run out there and start working without actually having been assigned. There is no pay progression chart for Material Handlers. A guy with 5 years said he only makes $15.50/hourly. He calls himself fulltime, but he only gets 35 hours per week. None of these people has ever heard of a union contract.

Oh I believe it. Being on the DGO side of Express as a courier, we see how dysfunctional the company has become over the years. Things are only getting worse. My advice would be to look for another job for long term employment. Pay and benefits are stagnant and will only get worse. Good luck and get out sooner rather than later.
