Is that the year we got that dumb pine tree sapling? It didn't last very long here in Florida. I still wonder who the brainiac was that came up with that idea.

Too bad I'm on vacation this week. I really hate to miss out on receiving a piece of scrap metal pressed into some stupid UPS logo. Or maybe they will give us a T-shirt that is 2 sizes too small.

We've talked about that tree before. Any updates? Who has one from '92 that is still alive and growing somewhere?

We didn't get anything. Well, we did get bagels and donuts. I thought that since we got a piece of a plane for the 100th, we would at least get part of a muffler for the 101th.

We didn't get anything, not even a bottle of water. I expected at least a cake or something. I asked one of my supes what we were doing for Founder's Day, and he didn't even know about it. So I am now celebrating at home with some steak nachos and beer.

I did buy a UPS Monopoly game for ten bucks at work yesterday. My Center Manager didn't make her United Way goal and is selling these along with some raffle tickets for a Gift Card. :happy_new_year:

Got one in my back yard. Remember when we first got them was told they would reach 100 feet in no time. I tell you it is lucky if it is 5 foot 9 inches.

LOL. I forgot about those stupid trees. I left mine in my car for three months...it died a horrific death along with the turkey they gave us for thanksgiving the year before. They're generosity astounds me.

We didn't get any "gift" this year but we had the UPS cake with some assorted fruit and juices. Watched the video and went on our way. Scratch, our center is offering the $10 UPS monopoly game for United Way too. I guess Brian didn't get us to give enough either. Our PM Supervisor was hitting all of us up for additional contributions. I only give $1 a week but I upped it to $3. In return I got the above mentioned Monopoly game, a UPS Racing hat and kids UPS racing T-shirt for my daughter.

I figured there would be no gift this year on Founders Day. The economy is not doing well and UPS is feeling the effects of it. We are losing routes and our volume is down. I was surprised we had cake.

By the time I started today, the only thing left I was told was a couple of stale pieces of cake somewhere and a fully loaded split car.:happy-very:
