I started in the unload at 270 lbs. Yep...that's a 2 for the first number. I was a fat boy big time. Lost 40 lbs. within the first year in the unload. I stabilized at that weight for a year as I became a sorter. I became a cover driver just after a year in the sort aisle. I lost another 45 lbs. the first year I drove. The route I covered (the regular driver was on personal leave for a year) had 52 pickups and spent the hottest part of the hot Georgia days loading in the back of the truck. I was a sloppy, sweaty mess! I've been driving now for 4 1/2 years and my weight has stabilized at 200 lbs. So, yes you can lose weight at UPS. Before I turned in my old ID for a new one, people couldn't believe I was even the same person. Besides my knees (which are taking a pounding), I'm in the best shape of my life at 38 years old. To be honest, if I wouldn't have gotten hired on at UPS, I'd probably be over 300 lbs. and a heart attack waiting to happen.
