Has saturday amazon slowed down for your station?

It will be fine

Amazon is pulling a lot of volume out of the Ground smartpost network too. Amazon is opening more of their own distribution buildings and contracting out runs to the local post offices. They'll end up like every other shipper only giving us the big heavy crap and sending all the small easy stuff to usps.

Saturday's are basically dead at my station, collapsed routes and taking out maybe 20 stops. Now if only the frieght wouldnt be delayed 2 plus hours from mephis during the week......

There's a pm handler at our station that works at one of the Amazon distribution centers in our area. He says there's a big push there to use usps whenever possible.

And someone around here laughs at the thought of USPS becoming more of a competitor. Good thing for Fedex and UPS, Amazon isn't everything.

I would guesstimate that Amazon was at least half or more of our Saturday box freight. That has fallen off dramatically since peak.
