He tried to follow ORION 100% on my route...

....and we never heard from him again. They found the truck a few miles away, out of fuel and abandoned in the forest. Our best guess is that he tried to walk his last 3 stops off in ORION order and just died of starvation and exposure. I found his remains yesterday, picked clean by the dogs who were expecting the biscuits he didnt have per company policy. At least he was in compliance on his final report. We will miss him.

The company wound up arranging a pretty nice service for him at a Portland-area funeral home, and scheduled it on a Saturday so that the drivers in our building could attend.

A lot of us showed up to pay our respects. Unfortunately....both the hearse and the shuttle bus that was hired to transport our management team were instructed to follow ORION. Reports indicate that the hearse ran out of fuel approximately 200 miles north of Reno, Nevada. We have no news yet on the whereabouts of the shuttle bus but since a couple of our management people live near the beach, it is suspected that the bus may have been driven into the Pacific Ocean from a nearby boat ramp and carried out to sea by the tide. Coast Guard helicopters have been notified and a search is underway.

True story.

and because all the driver's were Orion compliant, they were also 2 hours over-allowed, but no one said anything because they were orion compliant.
